STARTUP WIZARD Runs Every time I open AllMyNotes!

Postposted pegasus » July 30th, 2018, 9:27 pm

EVERY TIME I open AllMyNotes, the Startup Wizard runs. Yes, I can click "Finish Wizard" each time -- but it's annoying!

And, no, the topic called "How to change the default .ini (config) file location" was of no help whatsoever.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to stop this behavior?

I'm running Version 3.23.

Do search for file(s) with name allmynotes.ini, delete all found files, this should fix the issue.

Well. Yesterday, after deleting allmynotes.ini, I was happy that the problem was fixed.

But when I opened AllMyNotes this morning, the problem was back. There was a new allmynotes.ini in C:\My Documents\AllMyNotes\AllMyNotes.ini (which now won't let me kn when I try to delete or open it.) I AM the Administrator, by the way!!!!

What do I do now?

This is why we recommend to delete this file, as it cannot be overwritten with new settings due to an error in file access permissions. File deletion leads to file access permissions reset. In your case it wasn't working... likely, the problem is in inherited folder access permissions. Either way, you can fix it by taking file ownership and granting full file access to current user (I'd recommend, to Everyone user). This will fix the problem.
