I have been using AMN for about five years now, and am very happy with it. I recently upgraded to the paid version, which was a good move.
But there is one feature that drives me crazy.
If you type a line of text that starts with an asterisk, equals sign, minus sign or possibly some other characters, AMN treats this as a bullet, and automatically inserts the same character at the start of each subsequent line. Similarly, if you start the line with a number followed by a dot, it automatically numbers all subsequent lines.
This is very annoying. I know I can backspace to delete the auto-inserted characters, but it is tedious to have to do so.
Could we please have a user option to disable this behaviour? I am not suggesting getting rid of it completely, as I can see that it might serve a useful purpose for some users - but not for everyone.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
Disable auto bullets
Re: Disable auto bullets
Thank you for sharing your experience. I've filed it as a feature request to enable/disable auto-bullet/numbered list feature. Like it's done in MS-Word.

Thanks for that, Vlad. Very helpful.

Re: Disable auto bullets
Google Keep has an interesting solution, which I love. When the auto bullet appears, a newline deletes it and moves the cursor to the start of that same line. The newline/return key is right there at your pinky, as opposed to the backspace key often requiring looking at the keyboard, and it's only one tap as opposed to multiple backspaces.
Re: Disable auto bullets
Google's solution appears to be most elegant to me. Effectively from future update (version 3.37) it will work the same way in AllMyNotes - Enter key stops automatic bulletting/numbering/tabification.
