How Do I Disable Update Checking?

Hello!

I love this software, but there is one thing that is either broken, or that I just find personally distracting.

Even when I have "Automatically Check for Updates" un-checked in the Internet section of Options, I am still seeing a pop-up update reminders when new versions are released. I have noticed sometimes that the "Automatically Check for Updates" then reverts back to being checked, and I have to un-check it again.

Even more distracting is the small text in the lower left that is always changing. When I am focusing on typing something, it can really break my focus when I see text changing out of the corner of my eye:

"Learn about advanced Deluxe Edition features Click here for details..."

or

"An update is available! #.## (build ###). Click here for details..."

Is there a way to disable AllMyNotes from checking for updates, displaying update pop-ups, and removing the text notifications in the lower left?

If the software is older than 1+ year it may show notifications about update availability. I hope it's not such a big deal to ignore it once a year? It's unrelaed to checks for updates.

Usually this text appears not that frequently and only in idle mode (when there is no other important messages). I understand it's bit distracting, but it's LIte edition, it advertises Deluxe feature sometimes. We'll consider your request to make it less annoying.

The version in questions is actually 3.33 (lite, and deluxe on a different system). When 3.34 was released, I received a pop-up, and I noticed that the check-box in options for checking online for updates had been reverted to ON (I had manually unchecked this to turn it OFF, previously).

I then disabled checking online for updates again.

I was still on version 3.33, and then 3.35 was released. I received a pop-up again, and I checked the .ini file, and saw that "InternetCheckForAutoUpdate=false" had been changed again to "InternetCheckForAutoUpdate=true".

If it helps, I usually do NOT click the "Do not remind me about this version" box, and just cancel out of the pop-up.

It's not that I don't appreciate the updates, I just haven't had time lately, and would prefer to update at a later date!

As for the text in the corner, I would simply disable the status bar, but I like the row/column information too much!

I appreciate you taking a look, and I continue to recommend AllMyNotes to friends and family, those are just a few things I've noticed!

Hey there!

Just thought I would mention that I got the pop-up notifier again for 3.35. It seems to be happening much more frequently than once per year, and it toggled "InternetCheckForAutoUpdate=false" to "InternetCheckForAutoUpdate=true" again.

I'm beginning to wonder if this is a bug, or something?

I'm using a promo. I get the pop up and web page sporadically at start up. It is annoying to have my typing interrupted.

If check for updates is disabled, you will not receive any pop-ups. If it's really disabled please send a screenshot of that pop-up to , we'll help.
