Search for Date Range

Post by Ken45140 »

This should also be a "Feature Request", but with some comments about a CRUDE workaround, I thought I would post it here.

Feature Request: add the capability to search for notes added within a date range (or which just contain the date text).

My crude workaround: As I always DATE my notes, I created a series of date "strings" for a Boolean Search. So, for example, I saved this string (and others like it) in a separate note "9/17/2020 9/16/2020 9/15/2020 9/14/2020 9/13/2020". I enter this string, without the quote marks, in the search box. I check "Match Whole Words" and "Boolean Search" and uncheck "Match Case". I get almost all of the dated notes within the range identified by the string. For some reason, I get additional notes with different dates, but at least it reveals the group of recent notes I want to review. I have tried different combinations of quotes, + and - signs but the string construction I describe above does the "best" job.

Sure wish there could be a modification to the search coding of AMN to add this capability.

Regards,
Ken

Hebt u een tabel met datums om te sorteren?
Bij mij lukt dat sorteren niet!
