12-month major upgrade Guarantee

Hi, I have a question concerning the upgrade guarantee.

I know that ver 4 has been coming for awhile now and I'm still on ver 2.
If I do an upgrade to ver 3 now, will the 12 month major upgrade guarantee still apply or is that only for a "new" purchases?

Feel free to upgrade to version 3 even now, the upgrade to version 4 will be free for everyone who purchased version 3.xx after version 4.xx beta program start, even it it was more than 12 months
