Cursor and enumerations

Post by Draycon »

Hi,
I recently bought AllMyNotes and worked with it for several hours now. I use it to take notes while reading several scientific books. There are two things I would love to see in the future:

- when switching between AllMyNotes and other programs - e.g. browser - during research I always have problems with finding the actual cursor position when getting back to AllMyNotes. The blinking vertical line is just too small to catch my eye immediately. I would love to see a large cursor block, perhaps as an optional feature. Also highlightning the current line in which the cursor is positioned would help alot.

- I use enumerations with checkboxes. This is a good feature, however the structure of the text tends to get lost in the mass of text. I would like to have an ability to increase the line height between the enumerations so they build paragraphs. Using blank lines interrupts the enumerations, and the height of a blank line is too big.

- Regarding checkboxes: they are very small (which is ok), but you can quickly overlook if a box is checked or not. Wouldn't a feature useful that colors the whole line say light green if a checkbox is checked? Optional of course. And wouldn't a third checkbox state "x" in red make sense so we have the conditions unchecked, approved and denied?

So far my first impressions and improvement thoughts. Please forgive me if one or all of these features are already included (I use the latest beta) and I was just too dumb to find them ;)

With best regards
Stefan

Thanks, that was a quick response! I am looking forward for an even better experience of this already wonderful program.

May I add another request that I forgot: after I deleted a note the trashbin occured. Thats a nice feature too, but can this be pinned in its position (say at the bottom of the list or behind a fixed button outside the list)? It keeps being moved around when I sort my notes alphabetically.

Greetings,
Stefan

Using the beta I just noticed that you changed the cursor in the deluxe version :) So I installed that one. However, it needed some time for me to find out how the new cursor works. Well, to be honest, it is still hard to find since the animation runs fast and is most likely finished when the eye has focused on the AllMyNotes window - so it is not much of a help. Since there is no overwrite modus (just insert modus) I would really prefer a block cursor - or at least (if thats a problem) a permanent shiny circle around the cursor position. To prevent the shiny color being absorbed by the possibly same background color of the textline it could be helpful to use more than one color for this. Lets say you add a yellow circle around the cursor position (perhaps as an option in the preferences since not all may love this), you should use more than one yellow color (a lighter version in the outer areas).
