Vlad,
For me if I use MS Excel for example, this still does not entirely fix the problem.
Open this MS Excel attachment by double-clicking it.
Edit this attachment in MS Excel.
Press save-button in the MS Excel.
Close the file, and no dialog asking if I want to update the file in AMN is displayed.
If I do the following:
Open this MS Excel attachment by double-clicking it.
Edit this attachment in MS Excel.
Press save-button in the MS Excel.
Do some further edits.
Click on the x to exit, then the MS Excel dialog asking if I wish to save , don't save or cancel comes up, then
a dialog asking if I want to update the file in AMN is displayed.
It seem only if I get the Save, Don't Save, Cancel pop up in Excel, will I then trigger the update in AMN. Thats usine 3.09 Build 776
Re: Changes in attachments are not saved back to Allmynotes
Wow, what a fast reaction! I'm impressed.
Now it is better, but still not perfect
When you press the save-button then Allmynotes ask me wheather to write the changes back or not. When I immediately click "Yes" then the document is written back correctly. But when I do not click "Yes" because I don't see this dialog-box in the background and then try to click the save-button a second time (after further editing the attached document) then I get a warning that the document can't be saved (because Allmynotes is waiting in the background that I click "yes"and it seems to lock the document while this waiting-time).
I think it is not necessary to ask wheather the changes should be written back or not because a user expects that the changes are written back to the database. Evernote also does not ask this, it silently writes the changes back to the database. Eliminating this question would also solve the file-locking problem when saving a document from time to time while working on it.
