Instructions for AllMyNotes Organizer 4.12 for Windows.
Key Concepts
A few simple concepts will help you feel at home in AllMyNotes Organizer.
The main window has two areas: the navigation tree on the left and the editor and preview pane on the right. Older AllMyNotes documentation calls these areas the Outliner and Workspace. Select a Note to edit it on the right, or select a Folder to preview what it contains. Drag the divider to give either area more room.
Your information is stored in Notes and Folders. A Note holds content such as text, tables, images, and attachments - see how to create a Note. A Folder groups related Notes and subfolders - see how to create a Folder.
Every Note or Folder has a name, called a caption in some commands and settings. For example, a Note containing a client memo might use the client's name as its caption.
The navigation tree gives you an overview of the database. In this manual, item simply means a Note or Folder. Rearrange them with drag-and-drop or Cut and Paste, or with keyboard shortcuts.
As your database grows, use Global Search to find a person's name, a phrase, a number, or other text without browsing through every Folder.
The quickest way to learn is to add some real information: a to-do list, project notes, useful links, or contact details. You can also import data from other programs.
Now, all your daily information can be kept in one place - AllMyNotes Organizer, safely!
