Hello,
{Please excuse the length of this initial post].
I seem to have done something wrong and I'm at a total loss as to how to get myself back to a position where I even have my old notes. The situation is this, I decided after so many flash-screens alerting me to new versions of AllMyNotesOrganizer that I would take the plunge and install the update. So I set about downloading a copy over the last couple of weeks and never quite managed to install anything, I was afraid I may end up in just such a situation as I've ended up in.
So, 9th August I've just received a Windows Update, I thought seeing as I've updated I might as well update AMNO, so downloaded the Free Portable version and deployed it, it went through the processes upto the point where it wished to restart after upgrade, I said 'yes' keen not to do anything untowards that might upset the apple cart so to speak. That done I immediately noticed that not only has the Icon changed from a Manilla Folder, White piece of paper with a Purple pen. It now showed a Manilla Folder, White sheet of paper with Red lines and no pen IIRC. Not only that but I was starting from the point of the 'Wizard', I pointed it towards my notes, after a minute it presented me with a folder structure not dissimilar to my first time of using the program almost a year ago, all the Folders under 'My Data' had disappeared, there was nothing under 'Quotes' or anywhere else I expected to find anything as you can imagine I was quite shocked!
It was at this point things quickly went badly wrong, I received a BSOD a rarity on Windows 7 for me. Something about a kernal and IRQL_Not_Equal etc etc and a reboot. I restarted AMNO and again received the Wizard, I've searched the forum more than a few times looking for 'rescuing' data but I keep going around in circles, needless to say I've not touched AMNO since that day, though I've still got the Manilla Folder, White Sheet of paper and Purple Pen in my Taskbar showing 'All My Notes (2)', just like it has since I originally installed the program, yet it doesn't start with the My Data folder structure that I'm used too.
Can someone please assist me, perhaps a few pointers as to how I may regain my old data. Perhaps I could rescue it with a known program? Any assistance right now would be appreciated.
Yours thankfully.
