Actually all versions of AllMyNotes Organizer data files are 100% compatible. Possibly you simply had multiple instances of AllMyNotes Organizer running in to background and therefore the data file was exclusively locked?
If you need further assistance please give me exact error message and also locate and e-mail to me file named allmynotes.log

Backups show up as corrupted on new PC or 'newer version' but..... are not corrupt cos still open on old PC and have newest version on new PC. Very frustrated. Many notes that I don't want to lose. Please help.
