One of the many enhancements of the Jul 6, 2011 - Version 2.46 was support of hyperlinks to local folders, shouldn't there be another menu item under the Rt Mouse Click > Insert, such as "Hyperlink to Local Folder" or am I misunderstanding this new feature?

Right, currently there is no UI to that, upon your request we've filed it for implementation.

Here is a simple way how to create such hyperlink - just type directory path, add file:// prefix to it, and surround it with quotes (it path includes spaces).

For example, if you need a hyperlink to folder c:\windows, use this text:

"file://c:\windows"

An easy way to create a link to a folder is to create a link to a file and then edit the link by removing the file name from the end of the link. The quotes does not seem to be necessary.
