SOLVED: accented characters are not correctly imported

French user of your software recently AllMyNotes,

I see that the import file the accented characters are not correctly transcribed.

eg:

Numéros spéciaux

Date Heure Durée Numéro appelé Destination Montant TTC

becomes after import:

Numros spciaux

Date Heure Dure Numro appel Destination Montant TTC

Re: accented characters are not correctly imported

Go to Windows Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Advanced tab -> language for non-Unicode programs, and make sure that you have French language selected there. Note: it's important to restart PC after changing this option.

Though AllMyNotes is true Unicode app, you are importing from non-Unicode file format.

Alternatively, you can convert the file to Unicode format. Unicode files are imported better as no need to relay on system regional settings.

Re: accented characters are not correctly imported

thank you Vlad

THE PROBLEM IS NOW SOLVED.

The option in Windows Control Panel was properly configured for non-unicode programs

To import txt file, they must be saved in Unicode or UTF-8 re-recorded via Notepad or Notepad in Unicode by before import.
