am having to move individual notes after a note-delimited import under manually created Folders, as the folder hierarchy was not actually imported. (each InfoSelect topic appears soley as a note with a single line) moving a large number of notes by mouse drag is proving to be impossible, because the mouse drag must successfully extend to a range beyond the current screen view, and depends on each successful arrival the forced scrolling of the current tree view ...not a dependable method...

I can see that Ctrl click highlights a whole list of separate notes, but dragging that Ctrl-clicked group to a new created folder is apparently not possible. any suggestions to this task much appreciated...

I'm not sure what exactly you are doing, since we already have pretty advanced drag&drop features in hierarchy tree. Please try one of following:

1. Download version 2 (beta, but highly stable already), it has much better multi-selection drag&drop features in hierarchy tree view.

2. Use Cut-Paste, it's quite efficient alternative to drag&drop. Once again, version 3 will do it even better than version 2 as it has better multi-selection features in hierarchy tree view.
