Vlad, I am using Beta 3.03 714. I had something similar before.

I have a subtitle in Segoe UI 12, Italic, I hit return and then take off the italic, hit return again. But if I do not immediately start to input text, and click somewhere else under the note, when I go back to the space under the subtitle, italics are again back on....

That's the same for anything with Windings font, i.e. --> but I seem to remember there was something special with that to do with moving the mouse anyway?
