Just updated to 2.52 b479 and backup will not work after the update.

I renamed the backup folder and created another backup folder with the original name.

It backed up first time and wouldn't backup any more after that. There are no error messages.

They are showing up in the recent Files Menu.

Could it be the update that caused the backup to stop working?

I've just double-checked, backups are working well in version 2.52, same as in previous versions. And indeed we didn't do anything related to backups in this version.

Note: Backups are not supposed to be shown in Recent Files menu, unless you've opened them manually via File -> Open menu item. Use the explorer, I believe you'll find all your backups in the folder where you've configured them to be using Tools -> Options -> Backups page.

Either way, double check backup preferences (Tools -> Options -> Backups page), possibly something is wrongly configured there.

Yes I know backup files should not be shown in Recent Files but when the backup fails thats where they go.

I have not opened any backup files, and the odd thing is if I assign a different backup folder it will backup one time and after that the file name shows up in Recent Files but not in the backup folder.

I thing it is some kind of a freak glitch, will do a complete reinstall and go from there.

P.S. The Automatic backup dosen't work either.

If the backup fails there is a message box shown "Cannot save tree storage file as ^filename.", do you observe it? Also, please attach or send directly to me your AllMyNotes.log file, there must be logged every error that could occur during the backup.

Either way, backups do not go to Recent Files, there was only one exception - if a backup was done manually using File -> Properties -> Backup. I've fixed it today, so that in version 2.53 it will not happen anymore, at a same time, I've double-checked everything, and see that automatic backups are not added to Recent Files.

Tried many times on my end... works well... Must be something very specific to your system/configuration...

Also make sure to delete AllMyNotes.ini file, and re-configure auto-backup settings. As simple re-installation will preserve all your settings.

After deleting .INI file and reinstalling, every thing seems to be OK except for manual backup and that works if I change file name slightly.

I feel sure that manual backup will be fine after ver. 2.53.

I thought ver. 2.53 would fix the backup problems I've had, but there is still a problem with the manual backup. The Auto backup works great, and the recent files drop-down window is fixed.

When I do a Manual backup everything seems to have worked as it was suppose to. No warnings or messages, but when I look for the file it's not there or anywhere on my computer. I have found the trouble is connected with To-Days Date, works OK with Yesterday's date or Tomorrow's date or change todays date like this 11-12-03_ and it works like it should. Maybe todays date is reserved for the Auto Backup. It's not a problem I can't work-around, but it would be good if it worked like it was designed to work.
