Is there a way to include the captions?

I believe this issue was specific to version 2.62 and was fixed in version 2.63, it looks like your case, let me know otherwise.

Almost fixed...

There are no captions for 1 or more selected notes exported.

The captions show if I export the entire notebook. However, instead of CRAMPS I get this line...

CRAMPS, path: RBTI A to Z\-\CRAMPS (depth: 3)

Each note has its own "path." It is not the end of the world, but it would be easier if I did not have to work with MSWord to remove that "path" stuff for hundreds of notes.

And, yes, your product is the best. Nothing else comes close for book building.

Re: Print or export data preserving tree structure
I'm using 3.03 build 714

When I print to PDF, I can select to "print captions"

When I export (RTF or HTML), I only get the notes data with no option to also "print captions."

Is there a way to include the captions?

Thanks,

Glad you like it :) There is still space for improvement, like connecting outline lines, background coloring on child items, and some small polishing is needed, that will be done "soon". If you need something it sooner, read Matthew 7:7 ;)

Thank you very much.

That is what I was looking for.

Thank you for taking the time to do this.

Ok, please try build #476 below and let me know what you think about printing hierarchy tree using it:

Re: Print or export data preserving tree structure
Yes, that is correct.

It is basically what you see in the tree on the left side of the screen.

It looks like an outline. With indented folders.

“AllMyNotes Organizer is an Outliner app for Windows.”

I just would like to be able to print it out to look like an outline.

You know, with indentations. Yes, with icons would be nice, too.

Without the notes would be okay because it could make things very messy.

If the folder is collapsed, only show the folder and nothing included in the folder.

I believe that now your printouts show everything even if the folder is collapsed.

If this is something you can and want to do, then great. If not, let me know.

There are other programs that I can try out.

A refund after 1.5 years, and counting that you've purchased with a great discount... I’m afraid that's against our refund policy, even don’t know if technically it's possible...

However, refund policy is a weak thing against reputation… You are right that need to keep our promise, and very sorry that you are waiting for the feature for so long... Honestly, very few people are asking for this, therefore we always put other high priority items in our priority queue. Now, let's do it this way - we'll do our best to have it done within month since today. I'll follow-up even as soon as we’ll have something to try.

By the way, what exactly you expect from this feature? I presume you need to printout a tree structure (without notes?), with all the icons, am I right?

Since your definition of 'soon' is much different than mine, can I get a refund?

I bought the software assuming 'soon' would be a few months and not over

a year and a half.

I install each update and check to see if it is implemented. Each time

I see that it isn't so the software just sits there unused.

If 'soon' really means another year or two, that's fine. Just give me a refund.

Yes, soon, we have this feature scheduled for implementation.

From bitsdujour on Mar 2, 2010

"Regarding outline indentation on printing. Indeed, currently it's flat, but upon your request we've filed it for implementation, you can expect it to be implemented soon. I think we'll add an option to display outline lines and indentation, cause, for example, on printing multiple columns it will take too much space."

So, the answer is "soon".

I am glad to hear that solutions are on the way.

I will just have to be patient.

On exporting we mostly concentrate on exporting Notes, rather than visualizing tree structure. Though we do export also caption with information about item depth, it's not that visual. I presume what you need is export of pure tree structure? We are going to implement export to OPML format, this format keeps true tree structure and is supported by many other applications.

As for printing, we don't have it yet, but it's already scheduled for implementation - printout of pure tree structure (when option Print Captions Only is enabled), hope we’ll have it ready soon.

By the way, he can just download Free edition from here, and use it just to view the tree - http://www.vladonai.com/allmynotes_app_link_compare_editions.php

Print or export data preserving tree structure
Is there any way to print or export my data so that the folder tree structure is visually maintained?

I would like to be able to share my tree structure with someone who does not have the application.

I could take a print screen but a large structure requires the screen to be scrolled.

Thanks,

Vance
