Have you tried to do what I was suggesting above?

I have to admit that this message is pretty unclear, in majority of cases it means that the app cannot access it. Possible reasons: (1) another instance of AllMyNotes is running in background, and locked it; (2) file has read-only attribute; (3) file access permissions don't allow file writing.

Hopefully it's one of three reasons indicated above. In case if not, you can try to keep Shift key pressed on app startup. In case if it's really db corruption (in which I doubt), it will repair it. Note: Shift key works only in version 2.56, as it's pretty new feature.

In case if none was helpful, please send me your allmynotes.log file for more information - here or to User Image

Error on loading databases
I recently uninstalled AMN on an older computer, and reinstalled and activated on a new one. Yesterday I had no problems running AMN. Today, when I tried to open the same database, I get this message. :

"ERROR: Cannot load file J:/mostrecentbooknotes.ddb, it is corrupted or has a newer version."

It gives me the option to search for a new document after that, but all previous backups display the same error message.

What am I doing wrong here?

I should mention that my databases are saved to an external hard drive, while the program itself is on my C. Don't know if that factors in or not.
