Sure, we'll announce this fix in What's New page for versions 2.72 and 3.06 (beta).

I'm really surprised that this kind of error existed for so long and nobody reported it so far... Anyway, it's great that the thing is fixed now.

Indeed it's fixed, thank you very much!

*But I think you should draw attention to this issue in the sense that your users may have made use of this (until today bugged) feature, thinking they had a successful import when they hadn't at all (like I almost did)!*, so they can check their data bases and have a chance to fix them instead of blindly relying on it just to have a bad surprise near in the future.

Thank you for the files. I was able to reproduce and fix the issue. Try build 751 below, and let me know if you'll observe somehting else:

Re: Unicode Support on Import Facility
I really couldn't see accented chars and yes, my regional settings are ok.

Couldn't find a way to attach here and my usual upload service is down for some reason (restfiles).

Attached via mail to support.

Thanks!

I do believe we do support import of accented characters well. But note that when you are importing from single-byte plain text (not Unicode), you need to make sure that your system is set up for locale you are working with. For example, to import Spanish text correctly you need to set up Spanish language as default language for non-unicode programs in Control Panel -> Regional and Language Settings -> Advanced -> Language for non-unicode programs.

By the way, if my advice wasn't helpful you are welcome to attach sample file for investigation.

Unicode Support on Import Facility
Hi.

I noticed that the 'Import' facility doesn't support accented words, leaving 'Solução' as 'Soluco' and so on.

Can someone else please confirm?

Even latest beta seems to have the same problem.
