I've noticed a repeating issue that has not gone away, even with loading the latest update version 2.78 build 569.

Sometimes when I am typing and press CTRL+B for bold or CTRL+I for italic, the switch changes above to indicate the formatting change. However, as soon as I begin typing, the formatting turns off flipping me back to normal. The only way I can apply the formatting is to highlight the text once I am done typing, and manually select the switch or key in the appropriate CTRL characters.

I thought it might have to do with the fact that I have blank lines below where I am typing (I do this so that the text I am entering isn't at the bottom of the screen), but testing this theory doesn't test out true. Sometimes it works to remove the blank lines below, and sometimes not.

I'm not sure what is causing this issue, but it is frustrating when it occurs as I am a touch typist and often type fairly far ahead before I realize that my formatting didn't take effect.

That's odd, I've just tried to do what you are saying using your steps, and it works perfectly well for me using versions 2.78 and 3.09. And, as far as I know, lately we didn't changed anything related to text editor that could cause this kind of issue.

Say, it is happening also when you are using the Bold/Italic toolbar buttons, or, the issue is specific to Ctrl+B and Ctrl+I keyboard shortcuts only?

I came here to post about the exact same problem.

I've principally experienced this with italics, when using keyboard shortcuts, especially to put italics within a body of text.

Pressing Ctrl + i seems to turn on italics, the icon gets highlighted, but then when you actually type, it flicks off and the text is not italicised.

The same thing also happens in reverse - when italics are on, then using the keyboard shortcut to turn them off, they remain on until I manually highlight the text and use the button or keyboard to turn them off.

The weird thing about this bug is that it happens irregularly. I really couldn't point to any particular reason why, but sometimes the keyboard shortcuts work fine, exactly as they should. But then randomly they won't work.

It's not rare though, I'd say I have this problem maybe 1 in 6 times that I use it? (Probably exaggerated, but still, it's quite a lot.)

You asked above if this is the same if you use the buttons: it is.

When the problem arises, the only way to use italics for that specific section is to highlight the bit you want and then use the button/keyboard shortcut.

So it seems to be a problem with the italics/bold staying on within the program.

Thanks a lot, really hope you can fix this, it's the only problem I have with otherwise a superb and very useful piece of software!

*Edited having confirmed it is the same when using the buttons.

And one further point - it also applies to the underline function.

So I think this is a bug that's been around for a while. I definitely remember it happening pretty much from when I started using AllMyNotes a year and a half ago. :)
