after several tries of manual defragmentations the fragmentation-level keeps at 2%.

The log file shows the following:

Info: Starting data file defragmentation sequence...

Error: Cache corruption detected - record is not registered in the cache (file name - U:\Beruf\AllMyNotes\AllMyNotes.ddb). Unable to proceed defragmentation. Try to re-start the app and keep the Shift key pressed down, to perform file auto-repair sequence.

Info: Saved cache record size is 72201 bytes

What ist the best way to repair this?

So, did you tried to do exactly as it says - "re-start the app and keep the Shift key pressed down, to perform file auto-repair sequence"?

Alternatively you can create new .ddb file using File -> New menu item, and copy all your data from old .ddb file into new one by copy-pasting root folder. As simple as that you'll get completely clean/unfragmented data file.

this is strange: I have copy/pasted the part of the log but I have not seen this hint (re-start the app and keep the Shift key pressed down) :oops: so I have not tried this.

In the meantime I have created a new database-file and copied all notes to this new database. Now everything works.

If this this shoud happen again I will try to re-start the app and keep the Shift key pressed down.
