Fixed!
Ok, finally figured... And fixed it :)

Please use build #479 below:

http://downloads.vladonai.com/Install_AllMyNotes_2_52_b479.exe

The problem was in the default browser, for example, I'm using Chrome, and it can strip off these quotes easily, while other browsers are not that smart. Also modified AllMyNotes to do not insert quotes, and, to do not rely on the browser but use the system instead.

P.S. Thank you very much, all of you, for your patience on nailing down this issue.

Re: Hyperlink to Word File.
I just created a file "A B C.doc" in "My Documents" using Lotus Symphony. I then double clicked on Windows Explorer to ensure the associations were correct, and Symphony started correctly and displayed the file as required.

I then manually created a Hyperlink in AllMyNotes using Hyperlink to File... . It fails initially (using test or via CNTL+Click), but after I Edit Hyperlink and remove the quotes it works perfectly.

I am using Win XP SP3, AllMyNotes 2.51 Build 477

Re: Hyperlink to Word File.
Still having problems.

In Word if the file name is made up of two or more names e.g. (name1 name2.doc) Word loads ok but then it states that file can not be found and displays (d:\word\name1.doc) if I press OK then it displays same message but changes the name to (name2.doc).

I have tried this with Excel and it works perfectly with one or more names e.g. (name1 name2.xls)

I then tried Sketchup. With Sketchup a single name works ok e.g., (drawing1.skp) but with a name like (drawing1 drawing2.skp) nothing happens when you Ctrl Click on the link (or use test function in Hyperlink Editor)

I have also tried with and with out quotes " " and the quotes do not seem to make any difference for the problem I am having.

Re: Hyperlink to Word File.
I also posted a similar problem on Oct 23rd.

The solution seems to be very simple - remove the quotes that are added by AllMyNotes during the creation of the File-Hyperlink. This can be done by editing the Hyperlink.

This in turns means that AllMyNotes could be modified to correct this..........

Re: Hyperlink to Word File.
Thank you for reporting this... However I cannot reproduce it using newest version 2.51, on Win XP, Office 2010... Possibly it's system specific, in this case it's unrelated to AllMyNotes. Either way it's good that you've found a sollution, in case if someone will experience the same thing will know what to do.

Hyperlink to Word File.
When setting up a Hyperlink to a Word file the file name has to one word or it will not work.

Example "file://D:\Documents\Word\Medical History.doc" will not work, but if I rename the file to Medical-History.doc then file://D:\Documents\Word\Medical-History.doc then link will work.
