Some "Suggestions" of small problems that would enhance software if solved...

I just wonder if Vladonai can be used for file storage also because everytime I try to move a note bigger than 100 mo it crashes. I will be using it for my notes and my pictures but it would be sooo awesome if the database was geared to support bigger size of files.

Technical details:

I used it to store Mindjet Trial Version and its manual-pdf on a single note.

On read: 1+ minutes

On move: software crashes

Hardware: Duo-Core, 300 gigabytes, Windows 7, 6 go of RAM

Other things to consider:

While saving the software freezes. Maybe a new way of saving the database by creating partial databases files? I understand that my database is over 1000 mo so its already great.

Just tried it from my end. Attached 200+ Mb file - no problem! There is only one thing that limits attachment size - available RAM. Basically, if you have enough free RAM you should be able to save even CD images. Though we do not recommend to save big file attachments within AllMyNotes, indeed it's bad for performance (the app start-up speed is not affected, but, when you open a note with big attachment, it may be slow).

Why it crashes for you?.. Take a look at amount of available RAM, possibly you have not that much of free RAM?

Actually AllMyNotes is saving only modified documents, therefore it's pretty fast to save data if your particular note you are saving is smaller than 20-30Mb in size.

What may be slow is automatic data backuping - it creates backups of your data file from time to time. For huge databases it may take long indeed. In this case I'd suggest to configure this feature (see Tools -> Options -> Backups screen) to do backups less frequently.
