Today I was able to identify the problem thanks to the file sent by our customer. Now, AllMyNotes has routines to repair this kind of error even easier.
To fix your data file do following:
1. Download and install build #483 using this link - http://downloads.vladonai.com/Install_AllMyNotes_2_53_b483.exe
2. Using it, open data file. On opening the file make sure to pres and hold Ctrl+Shift+Alt keys pressed. This key combination will invoke error repair sequence.
As result, your file will open up normally, and since this moment you can use it just as before.
Note: soon we'll update the app even more, so that will be no need to press key to repair the file, it will happen automatically, hopefully, it will be done in version 2.53 (final).

Re: Uninstalling then reinstalling software and starting ove
It did work well, it's completely fixed now! =)
Thank you soooooooo much! (and sorry for my tardiness with only now returning to relay the end results with you...)
All I ended up doing was the copy/pasting of the root folder deal that you'd explained in your last comment and it worked absolutely perfectly & seamlessly. I've been without any sort of problems or glitches ever since then---I am extremely happy and pleased with the (really simple) results!
Again, thanks for the assistance & suggestions for curing my software's problem. Your prompt attention and instructions were greatly appreciated!!!
Most sincerely ~ Jo

It looks like something is wrong with your data file. First of all please search for all *.ddb files on your PC, and pack them in .zip file or burn to a CD/DVD, to have a backup of all your data before we proceed.
After that do search for backup files created by AllMyNotes, backup files are files with .ddb extension (backup files include "backup" and date stamp in file name), and open them by clicking on them in Explorer. AllMyNotes is doing many backups, every few hours, so hopefully you'll be able to get your data back using backups. Select root folder, and Copy it to the clipboard. Then use File -> New menu item, and paste your data there, I presume the problem is specific to .ddb file, once you'll create new one, I believe it will work well for you.
If none from above wasn't helpful you can send your .ddb file to us for investigation, we have tools to extract data even from very corrupted files.

Re: Uninstalling then reinstalling software and starting ove
Okay thanks for the reply, however, something on mine is still not working like it used to. I feel it has something to do with something I inadvertently changed in my tools settings for the backup options. Whenever I sign out of my Allmynotes software program and then try to login to it once more, I repeatedly keep getting the following error message: Error: Cannot load file
Followed by another error message saying: "Error occurred on loading root folder".
Is there a way to remedy all of this mess I've made with my program without just completely starting over from scratch?
Thank you, I appreciate any assistance you may provide.

Re: Uninstalling then reinstalling software and starting ove
Upgrade procedure is very simple - just download the most recent version, and install it. It will be installed to the same location as before, and all your settings, data files, and backups will be preserved. As simple as that. No need to worry about backups or anything like that.
However, making backups on removable media is a very good thing to do. Just copy your .ddb file(s) there.
To restore a backup just copy it back to your hard disk and use File -> Open menu item in AllMyNotes to open the file.
Note 1: In case if you are restoring your data to the same location was initially located make sure to exit from AllMyNotes, cause likely the file will be locked by AllMyNotes and will be impossible to simply copy it back.
Note 2: In case of restoring from CD/DVD need to remove read-only attribute from the restored file.

Uninstalling then reinstalling software and starting over
When I updated my software earlier this week with the newest released version I somehow managed to completely mess up the stored sessions (or backups?) files in the file folder I've used in my Documents area since I began using AllMyNotes last year. I am not a very tech-savvy person whatsoever and so in trying to correct the errors I made, I've spent nearly 3 days trying different options but only seeming to make things all worse for me. So now I am frustrated and tired of trying to fix whatever I messed up....so my question is--If I completely uninstall the software from my computer and then turn around and reinstall it completely, how can I merge or transfer all of my notes & information I've collected on there from a backup copy of my AllMyNotes files that I saved on a storage usb portable device?
Any help with this mess I'm in now would be GREATLY appreciated!!
I love my AllMyNotes software to death and I'm just really upset with myself for somehow managing to mess all of my files on it up and I'm terrified that I may have lost a lot of data that I put a lot of time & effort in for so long!
